FRATERNITY HISTORY

Phi Delta Epsilon is a professional, co-educational international medical fraternity representing more than 35,000 members internationally. Founded at Cornell University in 1904, this organization began as a means of providing camaraderie, mentorship, and support among medical students. Its membership expanded dramatically and eventually led to the advent of its first pre-medical chapter in 1994. The extensive network of PhiDE encompasses medical and premedical students, practicing physicians, and distinguished emeritus members. It maintains active chapters on undergraduate campuses as well as accredited medical and osteopathic medical schools throughout the world. Over its long history, PhiDE has succeeded in building a network of committed healthcare professionals.

Why PhiDE?

“I love how supportive PhiDE is! No one’s journey to the medical school looks the same. So, no matter where you’re at, PhiDE meets you where you are and helps prepares you for this process."

Shelley Stevenson, Chi Class

Maria Amisano, Psi Class

“I think our big/little process is so special and helps new members quickly find a close group to fall back on. I am so grateful for my phamily, and my PhiDE experience wouldn't be the same without them."

Meredith Finley, Alpha Alpha Class

"Although this is my first semester in Phi Delta Epsilon, I have already made so many friends and learned so much! PhiDE has a great mix of fun and professional events to help members grow socially and academically, and it has been so inspiring and helpful to see what all of the upperclassman members have accomplished throughout their time at USC. I am so grateful to be a part of the phamily!"

Shriya Gandham, Psi Class

“PhiDE has been instrumental in helping me build a strong support system. The relationships I’ve formed here have made the pre-med journey far more enjoyable, and I deeply value being part of a community grounded in supporting and uplifting each other. I love our Phamily!"

 PHAMILY - LED ORGANIZATIONS

At Phi Delta Epsilon, we encourage our members to pursue opportunities both within and beyond the fraternity. We believe in the value of being active leaders and contributors, whether on campus or in the community. We are especially proud when our members take the initiative to create their own clubs, organizations, or projects that align with their passions and goals.

Here are some of our current members who are making an impact and continuing to lead by example:

Aims to provide its members with hands-on meidcal experience through skill wokrshops, as well as opportunities to obtain EMT< First Aid, and CPR/AED certifications. Their long-term goal is to establish a student-run rescue squad to respond to and prvide medical care during on-campus 911 calls

Gamecock for LLS
a student organization affiliated with the national organization Leukemia & Lymphoma society. Their goal is to promote awareness, educate, and fundraise for leukemia, lymphoma, and other blood cancers. They hold monthly meetings to discuss new updates in research, brainstorm ideas for fundraising, announce events, and have guest speakers. They also hold percent nights and other fun fundraising events. The club is open to everyone on campus, and they aspire to foster a sense of community within our organization by connecting students across various majors and backgrounds, who are all united by a common goal of making a difference in the fight against leukemia and lymphoma.

No Periods Left Behind (NPLB)
